Myanmar - former Burma

2016 first time, selfdriving was not allowed, even with our "Thai-International Driving Passport for the plate, the borders of Myanmar have been closed and still are closed !

So until 2019 every foreigner depended on taxis or public transport.....

In 2020 a big change come up:

Foreigners could rent a car and selfdrive basically free....At least this was our first  experience with a company which we easy can "recommend": yoma rent a car

Attention: When you are driving be aware, that "driving rules and used cars not always fit to our logic, which we use worldwide for "left- or right side driving":

They drive on the right side, but older cars have "stearing on left side".... they changed finally during last years, but as a lot of old cars are on the road, you are never sure, what#s going on ...

AND the doors of buses open mostly on left side, which means "better be careful passing by a stopping bus!"
